Kingston,Mi
When I worked for NRCS, someone mentioned a farmer in Huron Co. Mi. that had an older track hoe with a large ditching bucket that he used to load out from a pit that held both liquid and solids. Site had a ramp all the way across one end of the pit with a concrete floor on the ramp and pit bottom. Manure spreader would come in and turn broadside to the hoe and he would dip and load. That wouldn't take much of a hoe to work like that as in could be rather old, slow and obsolete. From the description of the operation it appeared that the hoe never left the pit or the area around the pit, that was what it was purchased for and there it sat.
