Subject: Sulfa drugs on calf scours?

We've got a problem with calf scours right now... All seem to scour at 5-7 days old. Clearly something environmental is happening but that's kind of beyond my control. Pretty much I'm putting out fires, so to speak. I've got one who is on her fifth treatment tonight and the bottle says no more than five treatments. (25% sulfa solution, oral. 45CC/100 lbs first dose, half that for up to four more doses. Supplementing that with acidophilus tablets each time I administer the sulfa).

I'm doing everything I can with regards to colostrum management, they get a first defence bolus and ADE at birth. Keeping everything real clean and putting lots of lime down in the stalls to clean up between calves.

This ever happen to anyone? I haven't lost any yet and once they get through it they look like good calves, but I'm frustrated with feeling like I've always got one or two sick!
