Southeast Colorado
Last year I had our local coop spread the dry on top of a nice snow. My wheat was small and I wanted to spur on early growth. Well.............it all worked out perfect except for the fact that we must have had too much early growth because the fields we didn't spread fertilizer on outyielded the fields we topdressed by more than 10 bpa. Crazy I know but my only conclusion was that the spring turned dry and the thinner wheat needed less moisture. Hind sight is always 20/20. If I was you I would spread the dry as long as your wheat isn't already well-tillered.
