Not necessarily. I don't think that has been proven but I don't know.

I do know corn syrup, cane sugar, beet sugar and/or molasses has been discussed in the past. They are in some products and have been sprayed with fertilizers and/or pesticides. I did a quick search and didn't come up with much.

I have used corn syrup in sprays many times since 1987 or so.
