Wasn't part of the improvement in having the plant spend less 'energy' processing the roundup with RR2? I'm trying to remember if RR actually still did kill the original part of the plant cell and RR1 provided a resistant part that survived (mitochondria?) . RR2 is a different approach - but I don't remember what's different. Just guessing from a bad memory
