| Yes! Definatly use the safety stops, bars, whatever, before working on an open baler.
Seems to me we used to open the gate up and the tensioner would go up with it. Then we would chain the tensioner t a solid support and the close the gate. This would slack up all the belts. After repairs, open the gate again and remove the chain. Close gate to put tension back on belts.
This may be a little antiquated, but its the best my memory has to offer. | |
