One pitfall to avoid in my opinion is don't be afraid to cull your worst doing cow. Maybe you are trying to build your herd numbers? Weigh your calves, birth weight, weaning weight, etc. Base your cull decisions on business, not emotion. Do like other's say and get a younger bull. Maybe you could AI your herd and use the bull you have as backup? Good luck.
