Peotone, IL 60468
jr80 - 12/23/2012 07:44Heard a few years ago that Momence, IL was writing tickets for using your jakes in town. They had signs up and everything. I thought it was up to a $750 fine or better and a few guys called their bluff. Long story short the signs aren't there anymore. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought jake brakes are a safety device and the law states that no state or municipality can regulate the use of a safety device. I could e wrong but I thought that was what I heard.
I think the problem with the public is the noise associated with jakes and straight pipes and the cowboys with no discretion in small towns.
