Rolla, ND | Don't believe everything you hear. What you probably heard was concerning the 223 rifle cartridge and someone claiming once they hit they tumble and so the wound is worse than a larger bullet that just bores through. That may or may not be the case.
However, when it comes to a 22 rimfire in a pistol, it's not going to tumble and bounce around and do all sorts of damage, pistol cartridges are not moving fast enough. One can argue how much effective difference there would be between a 9 mm and a 45, but there is clearly no arguement that both are more effective at stopping someone than a 22. That said, a 22 is a big step up from nothing and most of the time would suffice. | |
