Been to quite a few funerals in the last couple years of people in their 90ies.
Sometimes when you get to that age the 'crowds' come because of your family not because they knew you.
BTW just got word yesterday of another WW II vet who went into France on D+3 and went right through to Germany has passed away.
An uncle. Private close family service not even nieces and nephews. Cousins are spread out from Sarnia to Ottawa in Ontario, 10+ hour drive apart and only 1 other uncle left in family.
Did that with wifes's mother too when she passed at 90.
Her comment prior to her death was she did not need people coming to see her in a casket, who had never visited in the last 10 years. | |
