Aggieland | Don,
Very odd that a house this new needs foundation repair, it actually started cracking 3 years ago. The house changes elevation by about 3ft from front to back and I believe they didnt pack the fill dirt properly when they raised the back of the house, if that makes sense. We had a guy come out 3 years ago and he said that corner of the house is 3" lower than the front and that they wouldnt fix it until its 10 years old at least. We're also on terrible red clay soils and have had a major drought the last 4 years. Ive got at least 15 post oak trees to cut down that are all at least 16" diameter and 35' tall. Wife really doesnt want to paint and neither do I because the cracks in the sheet rock will need fixed before I can do it and if the foundation isnt fixed then the cracks will just reappear. Thanks for the reply.
