Subject: Re: Base 12.

I've used base 2, 8, 10, 16, and 36. They all work, but not necessarily on fingers. Base 10 works on fingers and standard calculators. I have an HP16 that works base 2, 10, and 16. I learned to use an abacus nearly 50 years ago and when programming needing base 16 with no commercial calculator available that worked correctly. I built a base 16 abacus.

I use base 36 in creating sequential file names in my commercial programs at weather.net. Starts with 0, ends with z. Eventually it will produce ever word known to man in those file names and it will take a long time to run out of unique file names in 8 places.

Knowing alternative number bases like I do, I find it strange when numerologists put emphasis on things like century years or millennium years expecting nature to have counted based on the same number base. Something most numerologists haven't considered. Or natural events based on the birth of Christ.
