MN | Look up New Zealand calf raising on barrels - we did a number of groups feeding in 55 gallon plastic barrels with nipples all around - about 15 nipples per barrel - 12 calves per barrel was best - and a way to keep the calves from going around in circles once they caught on (once in awhile would get a completely stupid group and wouldn't really catch on but may have been pail trained??) We had sheltered in 12 by 20 foot open front sow-type sheds on dirt with plenty of bedding - only did this in the summer! We did use the barrels in the winter in a hoop barn with a cement floor one group but that wasn't the best idea - calves had a pile of ice around the barrel when the temps went down to below zero. I think I ordered the nipples from a place called Brush Creek or something like that - went to a Biotic automatic calf feeder now - might be a good fit for your situation (cheap) but you have to adjust to all meds being able to go into powder.
