up here we bed down everythng. 300 cows get about 8-10 round bales of straw for bedding when its real cold, so thats always.
LOL yea, here too. We feed in fields, cattle have access to corrals and shelters all winter which always have clean bedding in them. Cattle choose to stay out in the field, where we have a bedding pack withbreaks. Amount of bedding required depends on the snow, anywhere from 5-15 bales a day. If it doesn't snow then can usually skip days. |
