Ole

Any standard mic will work, as long as it has the correct pin-jack for the camera. According to the manual for your camera, it looks like a std 1/8" pin jack. The mic should handle 20-30' of cable just fine. You normally want to keep the mic pointed the same direction as the camera, or approximately so. You can pay $40-50 & get a decent mic for that camera. Don't try to hand-hold the mic of course, since your fingers will make noise. Also, keep external mics away from the camera since the tape transport in that type camera makes a humming noise of it's own that a good mic can pick up & record.

Good luck!
