Subject: Re: male or female dog

NE Iowa
We've always had spayed females (usually 2 at a time and some kind of mix of Lab, Australian Shepherd or German Shephard), mainly because I hate all that marking of territory stuff. They have always been good about staying home until the last one, she really liked to run between our house and my parents (a mile away). They all have had their morning walk routines over the years, but the current one seemed to go a little further than the others sometimes and she ended up disappearing 2-3 weeks ago. Not sure what happened, but I really wonder if she took a bullet or got caught in a trap or ran into the wrong group of coyotes. But I guess now I'm in the new dog market too. Scassell - those Bernese Mountain Dogs look pretty nice, I had been thinking about an English Springer Spaniel but may need to broaden my search.
