We bought a whirlpool also, about six months ago.  I was interested in the stainless inside, but some said the stainless would outlast the washing part, might as well buy the conventional, which we did.  I am not that fond of Whirlpool brand, but was told they make several others under different brands, and were considered one of the top brands made in USA.  Wife loves the dishwasher, only problem was it was a tight fit for our hole, but I managed to get it installed.  We have time sensative electric rates, and wife sets it to come on later, when the drying cycle will be running under the cheapest electric rates.  Very flexible machine with lots of different settings.
