| Those old farm houses can be so cold in the winter. Even though my FIL completely remodeled the house putting a new roof and an addition on the whole front of the house, he didn't insulate very well back then. I remembered several times when the north wind blew and it was snowing, there would be snow coming in the house by the front door. It wasn't so bad when we heated with wood, then switched to an inside corn burner when corn wasn't so expensive. Glad to be out of that house. I do miss the nice warm wood burning stove though. Flannel sheets and a down comforter and hot flashes make the cold a little more tolerable in our house now. Not using the outside corn burner this year. Will have to leave for AZ sooner. | |
