The 550 is what I'm looking at for ATV number four. We've got three 2009 700s with only gas and oil changes since new. Had a die hard Polaris person take a 700 for a ride and they couldn't believe it didn't have power steering. The power steering would be nice for deep muddy ruts where the handlebars might get jerked around. For normal farm use, don't think it's a necessity.
Engine and wheeler are built in the good old USA in Minnesota. Not to many vehicles can say that anymore.
I'm now running a 07 polaris 500 and I like it best of the quads I've owned over the years. 2 kawasakis, 1 yamaha, 1 arctic cat. Like I said previously, I liked everything about the cat except the way the front end would dip and roll on a turn. My polaris rides just as nice as the cat but a lot more stable on turns. I don't like the mcpherson front suspension on the polaris as it does make for harder steering. But I would rather have the stiffer steering than the dip and roll when turning. |
