Saronville NE | Gettin crazy isnt it, gettin $300+ a pair here for 5 months anymore, plus you got all the trucking yet, gettin to the point with all that, if got some cheap filler hay, you can drylot em cheaper. Calves never do quite as good though, have to wean early then.
Been doing some penciling and trying to decide if its worth keeping cows around here, I tie up another lot, that would hold another 125 head of feeders, at $50 a head profit, its another $6k, and have 21 cows left, sold 33 old ones last week, so even at 54 head after feed and pasture, I wont make $6k profit on those cows, almost makes more sense to just feed more calves. IDK just thinking outloud. | |
