I'm just suggesting everyone needs to use their best judgement and think a little longer this year. I had some varietal differences but they were all weather related. Here's an example. In one field the refuge stood while the trait corn didn't. But the refuge didn't have ANY corn on it while the trait corn had a little. A day or two difference in timing of pollination made the difference in the grain. But the stalks on both were equally poor, it's just the refuge didn't have any weight on it. In a different field we saw the exact opposite. It was all timing of planting, pollination, showers, etc. In my opinion on my farm the weather negated any possibility of good information to make a variety choice. |
