Theodore, Saskatchewan
Can anyone share thoughts on how soybeans perform in saturated soils? What about the corn?

I know the wheat in those areas will look good but the moisture will prevent roots from establishing and nutrient uptake will be short. So wheat will not fill as expected and if it does dry out the roots can be left trying to reach moisture too late in the growing season. Remember roots always grow for moisture and not for nutrients, the nutrients are just a bonus.

My predictions are that the USDA wheat estimate for Argentina will be lowered after the harvest. The problem with USDA reports was demonstrated in corn this last summer, they respond after losses and do not project them, so take losses into account before the report does. Then sell when the most bullish report is released.
