Central MN
I ran a 40' FD 70 for 2 years on a 9870 and this last year ran a JD 640FD on a S680 and they are both good heads and both have there place. In tough conditions I would take the MacDon becase you can change the angle of the cutter bar from the cab and the flip over reel handles tough beans better IMO. The Deere draper will cut a little closer to the ground but if you take both heads to a rough uneven field then the Deere draper will really shine. I am getting another Deere draper next year but we are going to put the flip over reel kit on because I do miss that from my MacDon. All and all there are both very good heads and really cant go wrong with either.
