central - east central Minnesota -

jrwarp - 11/11/2012 12:30 How big of a septic tank would be required for a restroom in a shop. Any of you that have put one in what did you spend to put on in Thanks

Tank size is dependant on use - of course.
With that said, little use, little tank. Extensive use, larger tanks.
Anything from 500 gals to 2 compartment 1500gal total.
Keep in mind, if you are in an area, that doesn't have strict enforcement for installation - you could easily get by with a 500 gal and pump it with a trash pump yourself (into one of your fields) . . . .
It's common around the lakes, here, to use a double compartment 1200 gal tank and have it pumped monthy.
Sometimes the user can get buy with pumping 3 or 4 times for the season (yrly or seasonal cabin).
This is only allowed when no room for drain field/mound system.
It's acturally a heck of alot cheaper to use a tank only then a full blowing system, when you compare the numbers. . . . .
