Do you know why most herford bulls are sold as two's and why most straight hereford steers are sold on the yearling market instead of as feeders?

I am really curious about the Hereford bull and steer questions. I don't know the answers and have owned herefords since I was 7.
Me too. I'm not really sure what he's saying/asking. Hereford bulls only get used one year and sold? That Hereford steers go through the sales barn for the first time as fats instead of feeders?
I suppose that makes some sense since the bulls tend to get HUGE and the Hereford feeder calves that go through the sales barn seem to get the cold shoulder from feedlot buyers while at the same time the home-raised Hereford fat cattle do really well at the sale. |
