| Getting off topic here but talking about Mexicans and their cheap cuts, I went into a large US metropolitan Mexican grocery store and saw where they sell chicken feet. I mean like 6 of them layered on a piece of styrofoam. Who knew?
Mexicans boil up goat head, sheep head, cow head, eyeballs, brains and all, and they call it "barbacoa" (barbecue). They will also take your basic stomach (tripe) and make tacos out of that. If you read up on why they do this, it's in the history books.......the Spaniards took all the good cuts and left the Indians what was left, so they learned to make do. Now they can afford to eat the better cuts but for some reason they choose to stick with tradition. | |
