I agree. Get a "bridge" loan. Its a no risk loan for a commercial bank, and they make a little interest.
I've been getting FSA loans for years now. Its always the same story "we dont know when funding will be available." So far, I've been told that everytime. Gotten funded in less than a week before, and the slowest took 3 weeks.
