NC | One dog-- they are territorial so they protect their land, not so much the sheep.
If you have big packs of predators, more might be useful.
I have coyotes here-- and there is no fence that will stop them if they want in. NC State Vet school put up a monster electrified fence trying to protect their small stock. The coyotes got in the first night.
Sad thing is I told them it wouldn't work and to spend their money on a good dog or donkey.
