Bullying comes in all shapes and sizes; mob rules and booze fuel a lot of ignorant behaviour. This was disgraceful and more disgraceful would be onlookers doing nothing.

I'm always wary of being conspicuous in foreign territory. Years ago my son and I went to a hockey game in Buffalo. Johnny was wearing his Carolina Hurricanes sweater. After the Hurricanes embarrassed the Sabres, we were walking through the parking lot when a couple punks in the crowd made some derogatory comments to Johnny; before my brain could think, I commented on their ancestry and reminded them of the score. Then my brain kicked in and I told Johnny to stop by the car we were nearest, in case anybody decided to do any damage, it would be somebody else's car. Fortunately, peace prevailed.
