| I did same thing BUT used steam valve and put it under the floor in the basement.
Stay away from foreign made ones tho, had those first, ever see water squirting thru sides of solid brass, not pretty. Changed them all out for Nibcos in first year
Reason I did it THAT way is the less places to leak and ruin my finished floor walls and cabinets,,,,the hoses thru the floor looks better than valves any day,,,,IF you have unfinished access from below
