Have been told by several people lately (including realtors) that a 3.8% tax on all real estate contracts will go into effect on Jan 1, 2013. This is tied to the Obamacare bill and will help fund it from what I've been told.
Read the fact check article about it. It is true, but only a tax on the highly successful since we have to punish those types of people.
Basically an additional tax that is applied to gains on the sale of home when you pass certain income tax levels depending on the situation. Not primary residence. Mostly investment and second homes. Still class warfare.
