Southern MN | A lot of things that were once considered safe, are no longer considered safe. Think about asbestos in construction materials, lead in paint, or tobacco smoke, who knew at the time they caused cancer?
So as far as genetically modified crops and the use of glysophate on them, I guess time will tell if its safe for consumption as we currently conclude it is. We do the best we can with the knowledge and facts that we currently have. As time moves on, we learn more and have more facts to work with, and we may conclude something different than what we conclude today. If todays genetically modified crops are deemed unhealthy, I'm sure we'll figure out another way modfiy them that is healthy and still yields enough to feed and fuel the world, I doubt we'll go backwards a decade or two.
