Subject: Prussic acid and cows

Marion,ks
We have about 180 acres of irrigated corn stalks. It has some volunteer corn plus some shattercane. Question is do we have to worry about the prussic acid in the corn stalks? Our vet suggested to mow the shattercane off which if I can get Greg to agree to it sounds like a good idea. We will be putting about 80 pairs on it in about a week, just as soon as we can get the rest of the them rounded up and worked. We had 29 degrees the other night.
