Anderson County Kansas | The corn is hardly ever infected enough to be destroyed. Its usually just discounted. The trick in getting the crop insurance money is you have to have an official state grade. Its hard to get the tests from where you sell and crop insurance to match up. Say the buyer tests it at 100 and docks it the state may test it under 20. It usually evens out over enough loads though. We usually just put it in the bin and don't worry about it, as we hardly ever get docked the next year anyway. Because there was no carry in the market this year I hauled it all to the plant and fortunately they never rejected any. I did have a load rejected at Cargill, they tested it over 150ppb. The eplant checked it at 0. | |
