I think that's more than enough. My parents maybe gave us a hundred dollars and chipped in some for the wedding. And made sure we knew if we got in a tight spot financially in the first few years not to hesitate to ask for help, within reason. Which we didn't need to, they did enough to get me to that point in life and I worked my tail off and spent wisely so they didn't get put in a bad spot. I think 800 is plenty.
Now if it's a daughter on the other hand, then I still believe the parents should pay for most of the wedding if not all. Maybe I'm old fashioned though. | |
