This is how we get just hay in the bunks. As far as feeding silage, we have a custom grinder grind hay and then just use a simple feed wagon (something like a Kelly Ryan that you can pick up pretty cheap) and layer the ground hay and silage as we load. Mixes just fine as it comes out. The cows don't complain.
