Subject: Re: canola crop in sask is poor

N East Sask, Canada
First early seeded field. Several hard pounding floods in June, hail twice in July with more rain from hell, plus some asters= 20bu/ acre crop failure.
Wall to wall weeds flat on the ground, swather could not get last 3-5 bu/acre.
One hell of a mess, worst in my career.
Grain farmer, how is it that your area so good for canola?
We are never too hot, never dry, cool humid nights. Black soil, fertilized, weed free start.
Yields rarely over 40. Never over 50 with a perfect year.
