near dyersville iowa | Its kind of a pay now or pay later thing. Just going through the thought process myself. 15k for a good vertical mixer that does the grinding itself. Or 3k for a feeder wagon and either buy a grinder or pay $10/bale +my tractor and time to process approx 400 bales a year. So 4k/year for the grinding alone. If you buy a vertical, it would pay for itself just in the grinding cost, but I admit I dont know the cost to run a vertical as far as tractor, fuel, and time go. It might be six of one and half dozen of the other depending on how you are set up. | |
