Using Garvo's original numbers, about a 15% increase in retaill beef prices over the next year and a half would keep a reasonable profit in feeding without squeeze blood from the cow calf guys. Depending on what fall 2013 corn prices do, it would likely be less than 15%. 45 cents on a $3 lb of hamburger due largely to extreme drought conditions does not seem an unreasonable.temporary retail price increase.
