Claremont,MN | we ridge till. we build ridges in corn on the second cultivation, put 28% on-on the first cultivation. we have a kinze cultivator and just bought a hiniker for a second cultivator. we have found that the planter works best on the taller ridges. we use a sliding guidance hitch to keep the planter on the ridge and that is all. before we plant we drag the corn stalks and if it gets really wet sometimes we will drag the bean stubble. we run row cleaners on our jd7200 and that is all the extras on the planter that have to do with the ridge till. we have found one of the best things about ridge till is you don't need GPS because your tractor will stay between the ridges if they are built big enough | |
