Marcia Taylor has an article on this very topic on DTN today, "Bigger Farms Take a Revenue Hit." I am trying to maximize ROI on my farm without increasing acres. I farm about 2350 acres and have been adding center-pivot irrigation over the last nine years. I believe the three keys to a successful farming operation are risk management, relentlessly studying marketing, and cost efficiency.
