Yes on scales, limited to 150 air miles, can only go out of state if the other state recognizes MO farm exemption and you will need ifta sticker or fuel permits for you trip across state lines. 54k gross is a grey area for me, I think but don't quote me you get out of the cdl requirement and maybe the medical card for in state travel. If you go across state lines you may not technically need a cdl but they will most likely write you a ticket because they either don't know or more often then that don't care. As for DOT numbers everyone had always told us to stay away from it as long as we could, we have them now and they do signal a lot more paper work. However I don't think they are required but this is a grey area for me also.
