Western Nebraska | One thing to keep in mind is the lineage. If you use Conquest you are related to Cherokee Canyon. Once you have Cherokee Canyon in your herd it is not real easy to find bulls in the catalogs not related to him right now. There is nothing wrong with Conquest and I would probably use him if we didn't already have a lot of Cherokee Canyon blood in our herd. My point is that you need to be sure that he is the CC son that you want in your herd. We used Halfmann Hustler this past year on our heifers. They calved great and started hitting the ground about three weeks early. This year we are going to use Messmer Jericho. His numbers aren't quite as good as Halfmann Hustler's but they are still plenty good. | |
