Thanks for the tip Mike.Looks like RR hybrids could have a problem with any late germinating,deep seeded weeds .Now I know I am going to get after Sonny to not drop the Clearfield lines.He has been wanting to switch everyone over the RR hybrids.I have some Giant Ragweed too,but my late season problem is mainly Shattercane and it will come back later if there is no residual.Since I don't have any Johnsongrass,I don't know if Lightning will control it or not, but it is death on Shattercane.
It would be another trip and more money ,but Distinct has good residual activity and it flat kills Giant Ragweed. More convinced that ever the RR hybrids are not the best except for the cost.Another concern I have with it is corn yields are much more affected by early weed pressure that soybeans are and I am seeing a lot of trashy corn because of all the rainy weather we are having here.
