west central Iowa | We farrowed in pens for years with pretty good luck, we always had 2x4 guard rails and a creep panel across one corner with a heat lamp. It helps a lot to have good maternal genetics, some york sows realy took a long time to lay down because they were so careful not to lay on pigs. If its cold and and you only have one or two, the hut in the barn idea might be the easiest way to keep them warm, we've been thinking about trying that. | |
