Of course you can. I put over 5000 hrs on a 7720 that was nearly always unloaded on the go. With the mechanical belt tightening system, I think you can feather it in much gentler than on the newer combines. I changed the belts under the cab many times in 5000 hrs, and always tied up a spare set of unloading belts, as they last better than the main drive belt and sometimes look really good when the main drive or hydro belts need changed. With a spare set up under there, I had the confidence to not always change them when doing the others.

If you have never removed the pump on the end of the shaft, you are in for a real treat. Better hope the pump threads have never-seize on them.
