North Central Illinois | Just heard the other day that 25% of farmers do not have crop insurance. Now I realize that does not translate to 25% of the crop since not everyone farms the same number of acres. So, between the people that have no insurance, those with lower coverage levels that might not have much if any of a claim, and those who raise a good enough crop that they have no claim, the insurance payout will be nowhere as big as some are thinking. Oh it's gonna be big alright but just not as big as some are dreaming. | |
