North Central Illinois
Wow that is rough! My condolences. Just too damn hot at pollination and of course dry. We have some pollination issues but so far everything I have looked at is not too bad. I looked at some Dekalb 6209 today that was pollinated really well and someone a couple of days ago posted that their 6209 did not pollinate. Go figure. I don't think the guy is too far away from me either. The pollination issues that we do have is obviously going to hurt yield along with the hillsides that didn't shoot an ear and then all of the kernal abortion that is going to occur in the next two weeks with more hot dry weather. I honestly can't give an accurate guess on my yields right now. There is still a fair amount of potential out there but with things changing so fast I really don't have a clue where it will end up.
