In regards to expiration, I'm pretty sure they expire in Sept the more I look at it. I don't think it was an actual Sept call. I think ToS labels stuff in regards to the month it expires rather than the month of the underlying contract. So, I believe I'm getting more time value than I originally thought I was getting, because I thought I was getting a true Sept call which expired in August like you said.
