Pittsburg, Kansas | That is a sickening feeling, been there done that. We may have some that poor but some that will make half a crop (60-75 bpa for us). The sad part, in your case, a 1 bu or 0 would have been a lot better. For the 15 bushel they will dent you if you disc it down, you can make that much running the combine over it, so you are pretty well stuck with combining it. At current prices (and who knows what fall insurance price will be???), even a three or four bpa yield makes it worth a persons labor to generate a little extra income and run the combine over it. It might only be making wages after wear on the combine is figured in, but this year that might be as good as it gets. Remember, every bushel they say is out there is a bushel that comes off your guarantee, so if you can git it, it is additional income as opposed to discing it down. Good luck. John
